Wesfarmers closes in on Workwear Group

Company News

Wesfarmers Limited (ASX:WES) has scored the green light from Australia’s competition regulator to buy Workwear Group.

The conglomerate inked a deal with Pacific Brands Limited (ASX:PBG) in August to buy the asset for $180 million.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has today stated that it will not oppose the proposed transaction.

Wesfarmers Managing Director Richard Goyder says the decision has cleared the way for the deal to be tied up by the beginning of next month.

Wesfarmers reported a net profit of $2.68 billion in the full 2014 financial year.
