AGL Energy changes code from AGK to AGL

Company News

Energy provider AGL Energy Limited (ASX:AGK) is changing its ASX ticker code from AGK to AGL on Monday 24 November.

The company’s origins are from The Australian Gas Light Company which was first listed on the Sydney Stock Exchange and then ASX under the ticker AGL since 1871.

Following the company’s demeger transaction in 2006 AGL has traded on the ASX under the code AGK.

Outgoing Managing Director and CEO Michael Fraser says it is a historic moment to return to the ticker code that represents a large part of the company’s heritage.

The change comes in the same week AGL appointed Andrew Vesey as its new Managing Director and CEO who will take the reins in February.

AGL Energy’s net profit jumped to $570 million in the 2014 financial year.
