Starpharma Holdings Limited (ASX:SPL) has been granted a Chinese patent for its Priostar dendrimers for use with agrochemicals such as Glyphosate.
The biotech company says this will further strengthen and expand its patent portfolio for the use of its proprietary dendrimers in agrochemical products.
The Chinese patent is the first of Starpharma’s agrochemical patent applications to be passed and the term of the patent is projected to be until 2030.
Glyphosate is the world’s leading herbicide with more than $US5 billion in global sales in 2012 and China is the largest Glyphosate producer in the world.
Starpharma Holdings booked a net loss of $14.63 million in the 2014 financial year.
