Perth-based Yowie Group Limited’s
(ASX:YOW) American expansion is gaining momentum with its product now set for sale in another tier 1 US retail chain.
The company says its Yowie product will be launched in a 60 store trial of America’s largest pharmaceutical and convenience retail chain this month.
While Yowie has not named the company due to confidentiality it is understood to be US drug retailing chain Walgreen Company (NYSE:WAG).
The trial will take place over 90 days with the Yowie confectionary product located on front end gondolas at the end of the aisle.
Yowie expects sales performance will be assessed on a store-by-store basis and if successful rolled-out nationally.
The latest developments come after Yowie’s products were launched in 50 Walmart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) in Texas in September.
Yowie Group reported a net loss of $6.4 million in the full 2014 financial year.
