Flynn Gold (ASX: FG1) has reported high-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralisation from rock chip sampling at its Henty Project in Western Tasmania, with several assays exceeding 10 ounces per tonne (311g/t) of silver.
Initial reconnaissance sampling identified multiple mineralised vein trends in historical small-scale mine workings, with the highest assay results including:
- 1,120g/t Ag, 52.1% Pb, 3.1% Zn (Sample AV007)
- 777g/t Ag, 50.9% Pb (Sample AV016)
- 720g/t Ag, 43.6% Pb (Sample AV011)
- 420g/t Ag, 51.3% Pb, 18.5% Zn (Sample AV001)
Flynn Gold’s Managing Director, Neil Marston, highlighted the significance of the discovery:
“Nine out of 17 samples returned silver grades exceeding 10 ounces per tonne, confirming the high-grade potential of the Henty Project. With modern exploration techniques, we see an excellent opportunity to uncover new silver-lead deposits in a historically rich mining district.”
Exploration strategy and next steps
The Henty Project is located near Zeehan, a well-known historical silver-lead mining region. Flynn Gold has commenced field mapping and is prioritising drill targets at the Mariposa and Silver King prospects.
Planned next steps include:
- Expanding the rock sampling program to define mineralised zones.
- Conducting geophysical surveys to map vein structures.
- Advancing drill permitting for initial testing in 2025.
