Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) most recent subsidiary Ooyala has acquired London-based Videoplaza to expand into the video advertising market.
Australia’s biggest telco describes Videoplaza as a leader in video advertising technology and monetization who deliver ads to viewers across all devices.
The company advises Videoplaza is used by broadcasters and media companies across Europe and the Asia Pacific region to maximize video monetization.
Telstra hopes the acquisition will allows Ooyala to tap into the fast-growing video ad market and build out a new business dimension in advertising.
Telstra says the combination of Videoplaza and Ooyala establishes a leading global personalized cloud TV and video company.
Telstra Corporation reported a net profit of $4.34 billion in the 2014 financial year.
