Mermaid Marine Australia Limited (ASX:MRM) has plans to consolidate its Australian and international operations under a single banner, MMA Offshore Limited.
The marine logistics company acquired Jaya Holdings in June this year and says the rebranding will bring the “Mermaid Marine”, “Mermaid Marine Asia” and “Jaya” titles under the single brand.
The company says the move will better represent the company’s shared vision, its increased international nature and embody its offshore oil and gas operations.
To change its name the company requires a special resolution to be passed by a vote of more than 75 per cent.
The company will seek shareholder approval at its AGM in November.
Mermaid Marine reported a net profit of $53.9 million in the 2014 financial year.
