PanAust’s Phu Kham operations back to work

Company News

PanAust Limited (ASX:PNA) says its Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation in Laos is back to work following a security incident earlier this week.

As a precaution the mining company suspended mining, processing and maintenance operations at the project for 48 hours after the incident.

The company has today revealed an employee was assaulted and wounded by a single assailant but that the employee is expected to make a full recovery.

PanAust believes it was an isolated incident and says there are no wider implications for the security of other employees.

The temporary suspension of operations has not had a material impact on forecast production and PanAust has affirmed its annual output guidance.

PanAust reported a net profit of $34.4 million in the first half of the 2014 calendar year.
