AGL Energy Limited (ASX:AGK) is tackling coal seam gas concerns by launching a new campaign to educate the community.
The energy producer says the campaign is trying to build understanding of the importance of coal seam gas in the New South Wales energy mix.
The TV and newspaper ads will also aim to show the coexistence of coal seam gas projects with local farming and local communities.
AGL also plans to engage face-to-face in local communities, hold public meetings, conduct regular open days and participate in local events.
The first ads were launched over the weekend and are expected to run in regional and rural New South Wales for eight weeks.
AGL Energy reported a net profit of $570 million in the 2014 financial year.
