Aurizon Holdings Limited
(ASX:AZJ) plans to next month put to vote three proposed enterprise agreements for its Queensland-based employees.
The rail freight operator says the proposed agreements offer a 4 per cent wage increase per annum over three years in return for a range of productivity and efficiency measures.
The company expects ballots to be conducted from the 7 - 13 October for about 5,000 employees.
Aurizon says the current enterprise agreements inhibit its competitiveness in the current challenging economic climate.
The company advises these agreements include clauses not sustainable for a listed company such as no forced redundancies.
Aurizon Holdings’ annual net profit dropped 43 per cent to $253 million in the 2014 financial year.
