Perth-based Yowie Group Limited (ASX:YOW) has announced the upcoming launch of the Yowie product in 50 Walmart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) in Texas.
The American based global retail giant will start the Yowie in-store trial in October over a four week period with Yowie featured on the cash register aisle ends. If successful Yowie says Walmart has indicated it would take the product to a national rollout.
Yowie Group holds an approved US patent for the manufacture and distribution of a ‘Kinder Surprise’ style chocolate encased toy for sale in America.
The company has advised the US remains its lead priority market and it is focussed on delivering these growth goals before moving on to other global initiatives.
Yowie Group reported a net loss of $6.4 million in the full 2014 financial year.
