Leighton’s Thiess renews NBN contract

Company News

Leighton Holdings Limited’s (ASX:LEI) subsidiary Thiess has scored a contract amendment and extension with NBN Co.

The contract is for the installation, activation and maintenance of home and business premise connections to the National Broadband Network.

Leighton Holdings advises the contract has forecast revenues of up to $183 million and is for an initial two years with a one year extension option.

Thiess says its services business will now be annually connecting about 170,000 premises to the NBN under this field services contract alone.

The new contract expands and varies the existing field services delivery contract due to expire this month.

Leighton Holdings reported a net profit of $285 million in the first half of the 2014 calendar year.
