Copper and gold producer OZ Minerals Limited
(ASX:OZL) has appointed Andrew Cole as its new CEO and Managing Director, replacing Terry Burgess.
Mr Cole will relocate from Canada and step into the top job on December 3 following more than two decades working for global miner Rio Tinto Limited
(ASX:RIO). Mr Cole’s most recent role was Chief Operating Officer of Rio Tinto’s iron and titanium business.
Outgoing boss Terry Burgess announced his intention to leave in February, at the same time the company booked an annual loss of $295 million.
More recently Oz Minerals forecast higher production over the coming years when it released its interim financial report last month.
OZ Minerals narrowed its interim loss to $7.4 million in the first half of the 2014 calendar year.
