Air New Zealand lifts FY profit 30%

Air New Zealand Limited (AIZ) says earnings have lifted 30 per cent to $297million for the 2014 financial year.

It is the third consecutive year of earnings growth for the airline which expects to significantly grow its capacity with the arrival of new aircraft in the coming year.

Chairman Tony Carter said the result was thanks to better operating economics, the right alliance partners and disciplined cost management. The outlook for 2015 is for further sustainable growth.

Air New Zealand announced a final dividend of NZ 5.5 cents per share bringing to total ordinary dividends payable to NZ10 cents, a 25 per cent increase on last year. The company also declared a special dividend of NZ10 cents per share after a review of capital structure.
