Origin Energy Limited (ASX:ORG) has reported a rise in its net profit but a fall in its underlying profit over the 2014 financial year.
The energy producer’s net profit rose 40 per cent to $530 million while its underlying profit dipped 6 per cent to $713 million.
Looking ahead CEO Grant King has highlighted the start of LNG production by the Australia Pacific LNG mid next year.
Mr King believes the project will deliver a step change for earnings and cash flow when the project begins to deliver LNG under its existing long-term contracts.
An unfranked final dividend of 25 cents per share has been declared, taking the full year payout to 50 cents per share.
