Transfield extends social services contracts

Transfield Services Limited (ASX:TSE) has scored $145 million of contract extensions in the social services sector. 
 
The company says it is retaining its contract with Austin Health in Victoria for an initial term of five years with the option of a three year extension. 
 
Transfield has also secured a one year extension to its existing New South Wales Land & Housing Corporation contract, building on a 12 year relationship. 
 
Managing Director and CEO Graeme Hunt says the company understands the sensitive nature of their business and the risk and complexities of delivering services within the health and social services sectors. 
 
Transfield is also now contracted with Queensland Health and provides services for the Federal Government’s Immigration and Defence Sectors. 
 
Transfield Services reported a net profit of $4.8 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
