Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN) and Jetstar have scored wins for the Australia-Pacific region in the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Australia’s biggest airline says it was awarded Best Airline Australia-Pacific for the second year in a row and Best Premium Economy Class Catering.
The airline’s discount arm Jetstar was awarded Best Low Cost Airline Australia-Pacific for the fourth consecutive year.
Out of the top 100 airlines in the world Qantas fell one position from last year to place 11th while Jetstar was voted the 4th best low cost carrier in the world.
Qantas advises the awards were judged by more than 18 million passengers from more than 100 countries.
Skytrax placed Cathay Pacific first as the world's best carrier while Qantas’ rival Virgin Australia Holdings Limited
(ASX:VAH) was ranked 15th overall.
Qantas Airways reported a net loss of $235 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
