Transfield inks $250M defence contract

Company News

Transfield Services Limited (ASX:TSE) has won a $270 million contract to manage a range of defence facilities across Australia.

The capital management and infrastructure company will carry out estate management and operation services across Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

CEO Graeme Hunt says the contract extends the decade long partnership that they have across the Navy, Army and Air force; and that it underpins their defence business for the next six years and contemplates a further four years beyond that.

Transfield reported a net profit of $4.8 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
