Transurban traffic ramping up revenue growth

Transurban Group (ASX:TCL) has posted a 13.1 per cent rise in fiscal 2014 revenue on the back of strong traffic growth from its Sydney and US networks. 
 
The toll road owner and operator generated toll revenue of $906.5 million in the 12 months to the end of June while proportional toll revenue jumped above $1 billion.  
 
Over the June quarter revenue was boosted by higher traffic from Sydney’s M2 upgrade and stronger revenue from the US after Transurban lifted its stake in the 495 Express Lanes. 
 
Transurban inked a $7.05 billion deal to buy Queensland Motorways in April which will be included in the company’s result from the September quarter.  
 
Transurban Group reported a net profit of $81 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
