Telstra Corporation Limited
(ASX:TLS) has unveiled a multimillion dollar investment into the new Adelaide Oval to transform it into one of Australia’s most technically advanced connected stadiums.
Australia’s largest telco says it will deliver increased mobile capacity and improve the spectator experience to connect fans, the stadium and the sport.
The work will include an upgrade to the main entrance off War Memorial Drive which will be renamed the Telstra Plaza.
Telstra will also upgrade the existing mobile coverage at the venue and surrounding areas to provide more mobile capacity.
Adelaide Oval has recently undergone a $535 million redevelopment and is poised to host 44 events each year with anticipated visitors of more than 1.4 million.
Telstra Corporation reported a net profit of $1.7 billion in the first half of its 2014 financial year.
