Discount retailer The Reject Shop Limited (ASX:TRS) has appointed Ross Sudano as its new chief executive officer. The appointment follows the departure of Chris Bryce last month which was first flagged in March.
Mr Sudano comes with 20 years of retail experience and has held roles at Little World Beverages, Anaconda Adventure Stores, Foodland, Coles and BP Australia.
The Reject Shop last month blamed unseasonably warm weather for lower sales cutting its annual profit guidance to between $14.5 million and $15.5 million for fiscal 2014.
Today’s appointment comes as the retail sector continues to battle tough conditions and one day after fellow retailer Pacific Brands Limited
(ASX:PBG) announced the resignation of its chief.
The Reject Shop reported a net profit of $16.9 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
