Silver Lake FY gold sales beat expectations

Gold producer Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX:SLR) says annual gold sales at its Mount Monger Operations in Western Australia have beaten expectations. 
 
The mining company reports gold sales from Mount Monger totalled 172,838 ounces, exceeding guidance of between 160,000 to 170,000 ounces. 
 
Full year gold sales have totalled more than 217,000 ounces which included sales from the Murchison Gold Operation which will be placed on care and maintenance this month. 
 
The Lakewood Mill will be also be placed on care and maintenance this month, which will cost about $40,000 per month and result in job and contractor losses. 
 
Silver Lake advises it has received a number of unsolicited expressions of interest to either toll treat through or for the outright purchase of the mill which the company plans to assess further. 
 
Silver Lake Resources fell to a net loss of $47 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
