Fairfax inks deal with APN in NZ

Company News

Fairfax Media Limited (ASX:FXJ) has inked a deal with APN News and Media Limited (ASX:APN) for the printing of its New Zealand titles.

The media company will see a number of its titles printed by APN at its Ellerslie facility in the South of Auckland.

The company says work from its own Auckland and Hamilton print sites will transition into APN’s Ellerslie facility within three months starting in August.

CEO Greg Hywood say the new arrangement makes sense, and that sharing a print site with a competitor is a fairly common practice in overseas markets.

Fairfax reported a net profit of $194 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
