Tatts wins claim for $451M

Company News

Tatts Group Limited (ASX:TTS) is set to receive $451 million after the Victorian Supreme Court ruled in its favour.

The lottery company claimed it was entitled to compensation after the Victorian State Government made gaming licences more broadly available in 2012.

The decision upholds an agreement from 1995 which involved the company paying additional licence fees in order to maintain its exclusive licence.

It is not yet known if the state will appeal the decision.

Tatts Group reported a net profit $122 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
