Dick Smith teams up with Vodafone

Company News

Electronic retailer Dick Smith Holdings Limited (ASX:DSH) has teamed up with Vodafone under a retail agreement.

The long term partnership will see Dick Smith offer Vodafone postpaid products and services in more than 276 stores across Australia.

The roll-out will start today and expand Dick Smith’s postpaid services offering while also complementing the retailer’s unlocked phone business.

Dick Smith says it already has 25 per cent of the unlocked handset market in Australia and believes this will continue to grow following its Vodafone partnership.

The company is targeting more than 50 per cent growth in mobility sales to about 20 per cent of group revenue within three years.

The latest announcement comes after Dick Smith teamed up with movie DVD rental and streaming company Quickflix Limited (ASX:QFX) for a new marketing partnership.

Dick Smith booked a net loss of $4.9 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
