St Barbara CEO to tackle key strategic decisions

St Barbara Limited (ASX:SBM) has announced a changing of the guard with Bob Vassie set to take the reins from Tim Lehany from the beginning of the new financial year. 

The gold producer has appointed Mr Vassie as Managing Director and CEO from July 1 2014, who comes with almost 30 years international mining experience.  

St Barbara says Mr Vassie will lead the company through its next phase of development as its focuses on the strategic options for the Pacific Operations and the potential of its Leonora Operations. 

Mr Vassie believes he is joining the company at a time when St Barbara faces key strategic decisions and he plans to implement the company’s strategy to realise value from its asset base.  

St Barbara reported a net loss of $87.2 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
