Aristocrat Leisure rings in H1 profit rise

Global provider of gaming solutions Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX:ALL) has improved its profit by 9.1 per cent in the first half of the 2014 financial year. 

The gaming machine manufacturer generated a net profit of $57.4 million on the back of stronger sales in domestic and US markets and a weaker local currency.  

Revenue lifted 7.6 per cent but eased 2 per cent in constant currency which came in line with analyst expectations. 

CEO Jamie Odell says Aristocrat Leisure expects strong net profit growth over the full year with the performance weighted to the second half.  

An interim dividend of 8 cents per share has been declared. 

Shares in Aristocrat Leisure are up about 10 per cent this year and closed at $5.17 ahead of today’s announcement.
