Electronic retailer Dick Smith Holdings Limited (ASX:DSH) has teamed up with movie DVD rental and streaming company Quickflix Limited (ASX:QFX).
Both companies say they plan to form an entertainment and technology dynamic duo through the new marketing partnership. Under the arrangement Dick Smith customers will receive a Quickflix gift card entitling them to an introductory subscription to steaming and online DVD rental.
The Quickflix gift card will be valued at $47.50 for Dick Smith in store purchases of $100 or more and Dick Smith’s support service will be available to aid the streaming process.
Dick Smith says the partnership will enable more of its customers to stream content on demand while Quickflix hopes the partnership will also assist in activation and after sales.
Quickflix launched movie and TV streaming services on Xbox One last week and the company announced an online marketing deal with Eagle Boys Pizza last month.
Dick Smith booked a net loss of $4.9 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
