Fairfax grows digital revenue

Company News

Fairfax Media Limited’s (ASX:FXJ) revenue for continuing businesses fell 4 per cent in the first four months of this year while revenue from Metro Media was down 7 per cent.

The announcement, made at the Macquarie Australia Conference, blamed the extended Easter/ANZAC day holiday as it was a difficult advertising revenue environment.

Meanwhile revenue from their Domain real estate service was up 22 per cent which moderated declines in print revenues and strong growth in digital listings.

Fairfax Media reported a net profit of $194.2 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
