Company News

Department store operator David Jones (ASX:DJS) has improved Q3 total sales by 4.1 per cent. Revenue rose to $407 million from $391 million and like-for-like sales were up 2.4 per cent for the quarter.

It’s the company’s third consecutive quarter of total sales growth. But the real standout performer was online sales which continue to grow quarter on quarter and have jumped 190 per cent on Q3 2013.

David Jones recently accepted a takeover bid from Woolworths of South Africa.

David Jones produced a net profit of $70.1 million in the first half of the 2014 year.
