Aurizon Holdings Limited (ASX:AZJ) says it is on track to reach its annual haulage guidance after increasing its coal volumes in the March quarter.
The coal haulage company boosted volumes by 11 per cent to 48.6 million tonnes in the first three months of 2014.
Aurizon has advised volumes in the quarter were impacted by weather related port closures and season effects following the end of the calendar year.
Despite the weather impacts from Tropical Cyclone Ita the company has confirmed it expects to deliver between 207 million tonnes to 212 million tonnes over the full 2014 financial year.
Aurizon Holdings net profit dropped 39 per cent to $107.3 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
