Quickflix cuts prices to take on Foxtel

Company News

Home entertainment provider Quickflix Limited (ASX:QFX) has cut its streaming service prices in an effort to attract more subscribers and take on rival Foxtel.

The movie DVD rental and streaming company has launched new subscription options including streaming of TV shows and movies for $9.95 per month. Quickflix has described the new entry level streaming plan as “by far the most affordable service of its kind”.

The company has also compared the services to Foxtel’s $19.95 per month plan, claiming the new Quickflix plan offers the best value proposition with unparalleled choice and convenience.

The news comes just one week after QuickFlix announced a partnership with Eagle Boys Pizza to bring customers pizza and movies together.

Quickflix booked a net loss of $4.2 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
