Unilife slams malicious blogs & short sellers

Company News

Unilife Corporation (ASX:UNS, NASDAQ:UNIS) has slammed a series of blogs as malicious and containing false and misleading information.

The US based developer of injectable drug delivery systems refutes content which it says was published over recent months by short sellers on the Seeking Alpha website.

Unlife has strongly denied any allegations of wrong doing and asked the US Securities and Exchange Commission to quickly address and investigate the short sellers and their associates.

The company advises the allegations mainly relate to a wrongful termination lawsuit by a former employee more than 18 months ago and the related US regulatory review.

Unlife has refuted the allegations, declined a settlement offer by the plaintiff and says it expects to prevail should the case proceed to trial.

Unilife reported a net loss of $30.7 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
