Dick Smith lifts earnings 1%

Dick Smith Holdings Limited (ASX:DSH) has lifted its third quarter earnings by 1 per cent.
 
The retailer’s sales in the three months to March were $280.1 million, with like-for-like sales in Australia growing 2.4 per cent. 
 
CEO, Nick Abboud, says the growth was consistent expectations and he anticipates it will continue into the fourth quarter in the region of 3 per cent, consistent with the group's prospectus pro forma sales forecast. 
 
Dick Smith made a net loss of $4.9 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
