Freelancer ramps up acquisition spree

Company News

Online job outsourcer Freelancer Limited (ASX:FLN) is ramping up its acquisition spree with its latest $US3.2 million purchase of Warrior Forum.

Warrior Forum is described as the world's largest internet marketing marketplace and community, boasting more than 732,000 registered users.

The site is ranked by Alexa in the top 250 websites globally and generates revenue from forum access fees, self-serve advertising and listing fees for marketplace items.

Freelancer plans to operate Warrior Forum independently and leverage the business to enhance growth in Freelancer's core marketplace.

CEO Matt Barrie says the acquisition will provide the existing Freelancer community a complementary community-based platform to interact and transact.

The latest acquisition comes just weeks after Freelancer bought a virtual content marketplace, fantero.com, and Poland’s largest freelance market place, Zlecenia.przez.net.

Freelancer reported a net profit of $753,000 in the full 2013 financial year.
