Coalspur Mines Limited (ASX:CPL, TSE:CPT) has named Sedgman Limited (ASX:SDM) as its preferred supplier of engineering, procurement and construction services.
The decision comes after Coalspur’s prior contractor, embattled mining services company Forge Group, was placed into administration in February and then liquidation in March.
Coalspur says Sedgman last year participated in the company’s front-end engineering and design process for its Vista Coal Project in Canada.
The company believes Sedgman is ideally positioned to step into the role of lead EPC contractor and will start transition work immediately.
Coalspur President and CEO Gill Winckler has thanked Forge employees for their work over the past nine months and expressed the utmost confidence in Sedgman moving forward.
