SP AusNet (ASX:SPN) has lost its appeal against $86.7 million of disputed tax amended assessments with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
The diversified energy infrastructure business says the assessments relate to income years between 2001 and 2006.
The Full Federal Court of Australia made a majority decision to dismiss SP AusNet’s appeal yesterday.
The company says it will now seek legal advice to decide whether to apply to the High Court of Australia for special leave to appeal against the decision.
SP AusNet reported a net profit of $97.7 million in the six months to the end of September 2013.
