Qantas biggest shareholder buying up

Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN) biggest shareholder is continuing to boost its interest in Australia’s largest airline. 

US investment giant Franklin Resources has today revealed its stake has risen to 18.66 per cent of the company. 

Only last month Franklin Resources took advantage of Qantas’ stumbling stock price when it last increased its stake to 17.48 per cent on March 18, 2014. 

Shares in Qantas closed at $1.14 at the end of last week and have traded as low as $1.03 and as high as $1.27 this year. 

Qantas Airways reported a net loss of $235 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
