Carnegie buoyed by demonstration berth

Company News

Carnegie Wave Energy Limited (ASX:CWE) has secured a demonstration berth for its CETO 6 project at the Wave Hub energy demonstration facility in Cornwall in south west England.

The berth offers the wave energy technology developer access to subsea cables and a grid connection and an opportunity to test its CETO 6 technology in a commercial environment.

The CETO 6 Unit will have a 1MW power capacity and will have access to claim 5 Renewable Obligation Certificates that should pay around $500/Mwh.

Carnegie recently announced a $20 million debt facility with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and last week opened a $6 million capital raising via a Share Purchase plan which closes on 17 April 2014.

Carnegie Wave Energy reported a net loss of $2.96 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
