Lynas achieves record output & sales

Lynas Corporation Limited (ASX:LYC) has achieved record March quarter output and sales from its Malaysian refinery and forecast growth ahead. 
 
The rare earths producer says its production jumped 47 per cent in the March quarter to a new record of 1,089 tonnes of rare earth oxides. 
 
In the same period shipments rose 84 per cent to a record of 751 tonnes of rare earth oxides as the average selling price rose 5 per cent. 
 
CEO Eric Noyrez says the plant has now grown production and sales volumes for four straight quarters, reflecting greater consistency and reliability of materials flow through the plant. 
 
Lynas has advised it remains on track to hit a production run rate of 11,000 tonnes per annum on a sustainable basis during the June quarter 2014. 
 
Lynas Corporation widened its net loss to $59.3 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
