Sealink Travel expands Sydney Harbour fleet

Company News

South Australian based Sealink Travel Group Limited (ASX:SLK) has expanded its fleet of ferries for Sydney Harbour to meet rising demand.

The ferry and tourism group says it has commissioned the construction of a fourth new ferry for $2.7 million for its subsidiary Capitan Cook Cruises.

Sealink’s expansion comes after recently inking contracts with Harbour City Ferries, the Biennale Festival, temporary Convention Centre and other charter opportunities.

Managing Director Jeff Ellison says the decision to invest in a fourth ferry reflects the company’s goal of becoming a major charter operator on Sydney Harbour.

The latest ferry will service up to 200 passengers and be delivered to Capitan Cook Cruises within 12 months.

Sealink Travel Group reported a net profit of $3.4 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
