(ASX:ONT) is expanding into New South Wales after inking a deal to buy a dental practice established 60 years ago in a lower north shore suburb of Sydney.
The dental services provider says while the acquisition is not financially material overall the acquisition is strategically significant.
1300 Smiles plans to boost the number of dentists working in the practice and make its $1 a day Dental Care Plan available to the practice’s patients and dentists.
The Townsville-based company already owns and operates full-service facilities at its sites in New South Wales, South Australia and the ten major population centres in Queensland.
1300 Smiles says its key drivers for future growth include expanding existing facilities, establishing new practises and acquiring substantial existing practices.
1300 Smiles reported a net profit of $2.5 million in the first half of its 2014 financial year.
