Sealink Travel renews Qld ferry leases

South Australian-based ferry and tourism group Sealink Travel Group Limited (ASX:SLK) announced yesterday it has renewed 5 year leases to supply ferry services from Townsville to Magnetic Island and Palm Island in Queensland.

Managing Director Jeff Ellsion says the new contracts are worth about $9 million of revenue each year for the company.

Sealink Travel Group has been focused on growing opportunities in both tourism and transport since its listing in October last year and also recently announced an agreement to supply charter vessels on Sydney Harbour.

Sealink has performed handsomely since debut and boasts former Sydney Lord Mayor Lucy Turnbull on its board of directors. The company floated with an issue price of $1.10 and closed 1.94 percent higher yesterday at $1.84
 
Sealink Travel group reported an interim net profit of $3.4 million for the half year ending December 31, 2013.
