Patagonia Lithium Ltd (ASX:PL3) has issued a correction to its announcement on 2 October 2026, which detailed significant pump test results from Well 8. Patagonia Lithium Ltd focuses on developing lithium brine projects in Argentina, including Formentera/Cilon and Tomas III, alongside exploring for various minerals in Brazil. The updated announcement provides clarity on the extraction depth and process, confirming that the 72-hour pump test for Well 8 achieved a consistent flow rate, with results aligning with the company’s other proximate wells.
The correction specifies that brine was pumped from 477 metres depth in Well 8, adjusting the previously reported depth. The closest packer sample at 330 metres yielded an assay of 232 parts per million (ppm) lithium. The company noted that due to mixing during pumping, the lithium content in the 146,800 litres extracted is estimated to be between 29kg and 33.7kg, with a preferred value of 30kg, equivalent to 159 kg Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE). The 72-hour pump test on Well 8 demonstrated a robust flow rate of 2,043 litres per hour, with the well depth recorded at 485 metres.
Further geological work has also progressed, with DBS&A processing additional core samples for porosity analysis. The reprocessing of BMR spectral gamma geophysics at 15ms resolution led to a further 2% increase in specific yield porosity across all six lithological zones. Executive Chairman Phillip Thomas commented on the strong pumping results from Well 8 on the Cilon concession, highlighting the exceptionally fast recovery after pumping ceased and indicating excellent aquifer performance closer to the surface. Additionally, Well 9 has successfully completed a packer test at 150 metres depth, with an end of hole at 230 metres.
