Taruga Minerals (ASX:TAR) today, 7 October 2026, announced significant exploration results from its Kol Mountain Copper-Gold Project in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea. Taruga Minerals Limited is a Perth-based exploration company with a district-scale gold-copper portfolio in Papua New Guinea, one of the world’s most mineral-rich provinces. The update highlights positive assay results from rock chip sampling at the Northern Agadul access corridor and the north-western margin of the main Agadul porphyry zone, underscoring the project’s prospectivity for both porphyry-style copper-molybdenum and high-grade gold mineralisation.

At the Northern Agadul access corridor, a newly delineated target area, assays identified a porphyry-style copper-molybdenum signature. Key results from this zone include 0.39g/t gold in gossanous outcrop and 0.11% copper with 4.3ppm molybdenum from outcropping sulphide-rich breccia. Multi-element analysis revealed a metal zoning pattern over approximately 250 metres, with copper and molybdenum grading outward to zinc, lead, manganese, and gold-silver, a characteristic signature of the outer parts of porphyry copper systems. Meanwhile, samples from the north-western margin of the main 4.8km Agadul Porphyry copper anomaly returned high-grade skarn float results of up to 2.33% copper, 9.4 g/t silver, and 0.22 g/t gold.

Furthermore, field crews successfully accessed the high-grade gold zone at Agadul Shear, where historic trenches and drill core were located. Past drilling by CRA (Rio Tinto) at Agadul Shear Zone and skarn prospect yielded notable gold intercepts, including 6 metres at 2.2 g/t gold from 36 metres and 10 metres at 1.6 g/t gold from 60 metres. Taruga Minerals Chairman, Paul Cronin, commented that these initial assays from Northern Agadul tested a new target, confirming surface copper and a high-grade copper float skarn. He added that the company would continue to advance exploration efforts to prioritise potential drill targets for 2027, with further assay results from an extended field campaign pending.
