Vanadium Resources Limited (ASX: VR8) has announced it successfully secured A$1.0 million through an oversubscribed equity placement. The critical minerals company, which is developing its Steelpoortdrift Vanadium Project in South Africa, aims to advance its planned next-generation V-Iron Plant at Highveld Industrial Park. The placement received firm commitments from sophisticated and institutional investors, demonstrating strong support for the company’s development pathway.

The funds raised are earmarked for several key development activities. These include progressing strategic development finance institutional support and an institutional U.S. roadshow scheduled for September, which will involve meetings with potential funding and offtake partners. Proceeds will also prepare workstreams for the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), advance offtake discussions for both vanadium-bearing slag (with U.S. Vanadium) and pig iron, and progress project financing discussions through Rand Merchant Bank. Additionally, funds will cover V-Iron Plant site retention, utility agreements, environmental, and logistics workstreams, alongside the costs of the offer and general working capital.

This capital injection builds on a series of positive developments for VR8, including securing a Right of First Refusal for the V-Iron Plant site at Highveld Industrial Park, which offers established heavy-industrial zoning and essential infrastructure. Executive Chairman Jurie Wessels highlighted that the selective capital raising strategy aims to advance key milestones while preserving optionality for broader, long-term financing. CEO Nick Diack noted that completing the Accelerated Scoping Study and advancing site, utility, and offtake discussions are immediate priorities, with the U.S. roadshow providing a crucial opportunity to engage with strategic partners. The placement involved issuing 31.25 million new shares at A$0.032 each, representing a 15.8% discount to the last traded price.
