PolarX Limited (ASX:PXX), an ASX-listed explorer and developer focused on its Alaska Range Project in Alaska, USA, has announced exceptional high-grade copper and silver assay results from its 2026 diamond drilling campaign at the Caribou Dome Copper Deposit. The Alaska Range Project, a joint venture with Northern Star Resources Limited, is currently undergoing a fully funded exploration program to expand known mineralisation and test deeper targets. Key results include 24.8 metres at 9.8% copper and 14.5 grams per tonne silver from 2.4 metres in hole CD26-007, and 22.6 metres at 8.1% copper and 13.5 grams per tonne silver from 3.7 metres in hole CD26-004.
These twin holes, drilled adjacent to historical counterparts, demonstrated materially increased grades over extended widths compared to previous results. This disparity has prompted PolarX to plan systematic re-assaying of historical pulps, which holds the potential to uplift the current average Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) grade at Caribou Dome. Additionally, new drilling has successfully extended the known copper mineralisation. Hole CD26-003 intersected 0.3 metres at 3.5% copper and 4 grams per tonne silver from 453.7 metres, pushing the mineralisation depth approximately 170 metres below the current MRE, indicating a potential depth of around 500 metres from the surface for the deposit.
The Caribou Dome deposit currently holds a JORC Resource of 224,375 tonnes of contained copper. The 2026 drilling campaign is ongoing, with an additional 1,700 metres of drilling scheduled for completion this season. These encouraging results underscore the potential for substantial resource growth within the Alaska Range Project. The company anticipates that the ongoing exploration and re-assaying of historical data will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the deposit’s grade and scale, contributing to future resource updates.
