Argo’s 1H profit boost

Argo Investments’ Limited (ASX:ARG) first half profit lifted by over 18 per cent to $102 million.
 
Earnings per share rose over 15 per cent to 15.8 cents per share.
 
The board declared an interim dividend of 13.5 cents per share fully franked.
 
Argo’s result was boosted by $6.9 million worth of one-off income items including the demerger dividends from Recall Holdings and Orora by Brambles and Amcor respectively.
 
Argo says its investment outperformed the broader local share market over the first half, returning more than 14 per cent.
