Bass Oil Limited (ASX:BAS), an Australian-listed oil producer with interests in fourteen permits in the Cooper Basin and a 55% stake in an Indonesian KSO, has provided an operational update for July 2026. The company reported total sales revenue of A$405,527 net to Bass for the month. Group daily oil production averaged 221 barrels of oil per day (bopd), with total monthly production increasing by 3% to 6,838 barrels. Cooper Basin sales revenue was impacted by inland rainfalls, which closed roads and delayed oil sales, though production continued uninterrupted into onsite storage. Trucking recommenced in early August, with 1,548 barrels sold in the first week at A$125.04 per barrel, generating A$193,569.
In Indonesia, Bass Oil’s Tangai-Sukananti oil fields maintained consistent production, averaging 140 bopd net to Bass for July. The company’s share of field production for the month was 4,326 barrels, with 4,309 barrels sold at an average price of US$74.40 per barrel. Significant progress was made on the Bunian 6 oil development well, which is currently in its final hole section towards the primary target. Drilling operations are anticipated to conclude by the end of August, with the well expected to come online shortly thereafter and potentially double the group’s overall production.
Bass Oil is also advancing several gas development initiatives in the Cooper Basin. Engineering studies are progressing for the recommissioning of the Vanessa Gas Field facility, with 4WD road access re-established and a pipeline integrity survey scheduled for early September. This project aims for the company’s first gas sales into the east coast market by year-end. Furthermore, interpretation of reprocessed Kiwi 3D seismic data is yielding encouraging results, enhancing the Kiwi North prospect. The Santos-led Cooper Basin Joint Venture continues its deep coal commercialisation study, successfully drilling and fracture stimulating Jack Lake 8 and drilling Neuro 1, with these efforts directly applicable to Bass’s commercialisation goals.
