Fletcher appoints Ralph Norris to board

Fletcher Building Limited (ASX:FBU) has appointed former Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) boss Ralph Norris to its board as part of its succession plan in light of chairman Ralph Waters’ retirement later this year.
 
Mr Norris’ appointment as an independent director is effective from April.
 
Fletcher’s board will initially grow to nine until Mr Waters retires at the end of the year.
 
Mr Norris is currently a director of Fonterra Co-operative Group and Origin Energy, and also held the roles of chief executive of CBA and Air New Zealand.
 
Fletcher Building generated a net profit of $284 million in fiscal 2013.
